Today, Monday 23rd March 2020 was the first day of school closure in the UK - just one measure put in place in an attempt to reduce the spread of Covid-19. A strain of Coronavirus, Covid-19 is a nasty virus that attacks people's lungs and respiratory system. Mainly affecting the elderly with underlying health issues and people who are already suffering with a form of illness.
We were expecting school closures before they came but I think we would all agree that we were being a little naive at how serious this virus is. With Mark having T1 diabetes we need to be even more aware and cautious but the will to try and carry on as normally as possible was still there. Not now.
With Evie (nearly 8), Isla (6) and Maia (3) all now at home we have the enormous task of juggling our work with keeping them happily entertained and educated on a basic level.
I like to think we did OK. If we get to the end of a day all intact (aside from looking like we've been dragged through a hedge backwards) then we have done a pretty good job.
After a little home office move around whereby my dressing table became office table we were set up and ready to take turns getting some work done in-between completing school tasks, being creative and getting outdoors. It wasn't easy and I am certain the kids enthusiasm will wear off. Taking things each day as it comes seems to be the only option as looking too far ahead is freaking me out!
Here's some snaps of what we have been up to so far!
